Welcome
Are you curious or have a deep desire to know who you are and where your ancestors lived? The South Plains Genealogical Society may be the place for you. Come join us the second Saturday of the month (excluding summer months and December) from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. We meet in the Mahon Library Community Room, located at 1306 9th Street, Lubbock, Texas.
The Mahon Library has more than 10,000 resource books available to the public. If you have a question or just want to come and take a look, we welcome your interest. We have resources pertaining to local, state, national and world genealogy.
Membership is not required to attend our meetings but we would love to have you as a member. We have great camaraderie and enjoy the exchange of information at our meetings. In the past we have hosted some great guest speakers, including our very own SPGS members, to address the membership. Membership also includes South Plains Roots, our award-winning newsletter, which is very informative and fun to read.
As we like to say: “How can we know who we are, if we don’t know who our ancestors were?”
