If you are curios, or have a deep desire to know who you are and where you come from? The South Plains Genealogical Society may be the place for you. Come join us on the 2nd Saturday of the month excluding summer months and December from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. We meet at the Mahon Library meeting room, located at 1306 9th St., Lubbock, Texas.
The Mahon Library has a large genealogy section, which is open to the public. If you have a question or just want to come and take a look, come in for a visit. The SPGS tries to have a volunteer there most of the time, they are very knowledgeable and helpful. We have resources that pertain to local, state, national and world genealogy.
Membership is not required to attend our meetings, but we would love to have you as a member. We have a great fellowship and a lot of information is exchanged at our meetings. In the past we have had some great guest speakers as well as SPGS members, address our membership. We also offer an award winning Newsletter which is very informative and fun to read. How can we know who we are, if we don’t know who our ancestors were?
